Urgent neurosurgical care was provided in our center. A child was brought to the intensive care unit of the Children's Oncology, Hematology and Immunology Scientific and Practical Medical Center with a diagnosis of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and acute hydrocephalus. The patient's condition is serious, visual impairment, loss of consciousness, and seizures were observed. As a result of the examinations, life-threatening occlusive hydrocephalus was revealed, in which it was found that the internal pressure of the brain increased sharply due to the cessation of the flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the ventricles of the brain. A multidisciplinary council was urgently held with the participation of neurosurgeons, hematologists, resuscitators and anesthesiologists. According to the council's decision, ventriculoperitoneal shunting (VPSh) was performed on the patient. The surgery was successfully performed by a team of experienced neurosurgeons of our center, including neurosurgeon Ekaterina Evstigneeva. During the operation, close cooperation of hematologists, resuscitators and anesthesiologists was ensured, and the patient was provided with the necessary complex medical care. Despite the high risk of bleeding against the background of thrombocytopenia, the operation was completed successfully. Currently, the patient's condition is stable and he continues to receive treatment under the supervision of specialists in the intensive care unit. This clinical situation has once again shown that the specialists of our center are ready to provide prompt and highly qualified medical care even in the most difficult situations. tsentreV otdelenie reanimatsii Nauchno-prakticheskogo meditsinskogo tsentra detskoy onkologii, hematologii i immunologii byl dostavlen rebyonok s idiopathic thrombocytopenicheskoy purpuroy (ITP) i ostroy hydrocephalus.
