The achievements of Uzbekistan were highly recognized at the opening ceremony of SIOP Asia 2026. The opening ceremony of the SIOP Asia 2026 international congress was held in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. Leading specialists in the field of pediatric oncology and hematology from different countries of the world took part in the prestigious conference. During the opening ceremony, the president of SIOP Asia, Gevorg Tamonyan, in his welcome speech, expressed special gratitude to professor Jamila Polatova, director of the Center for Scientific and Applied Medicine of Children's Oncology, Hematology and Immunology. Development of Professor Jamila Polatova's SIOP Asia activities, active involvement of Uzbek specialists in the international professional community, expanding the ranks of the organization's members, children's oncology in our country significant contribution to the improvement of the service and strengthening of international cooperation was specially recognized. As noted, two years ago, the number of specialists from Uzbekistan who were members of the SIOP Asia organization was only 6, but by the time of the congress, their number had exceeded 250. With this indicator, it was noted that Uzbekistan took the first place in terms of the number of members within SIOP Asia, and the second place internationally after the United States of America. It was noted that this result was achieved by unifying specialists under the leadership of Professor Jamila Polatova, expanding their participation in international congresses, scientific programs and educational projects, and supporting the professional development of young specialists. This achievement is the development of the field of pediatric oncology in Uzbekistan. It was an important recognition of the systematic reforms, the effective work of the Center's team and the rise of the prestige of our country's experts in the international arena.
